How to play Classic Backgammon?

1. Set Up the board: Place the board on a flat surface between both players. Each player should have 15 Checkers of their own color. Place the Checkers in the 24 triAngles that make Up the board. Two on each player's 24-Point, Five on each player's 13-Point, three on each player's 8-Point, and Five each on the 6-Point.

2. Roll the Dice: Each player rolls one die to determine who goes first. The player with the higher number goes first. That player then rolls both Dice again to begin the game.

3. Move the Checkers: The player with the higher roll moves his Checkers according to the Numbers on the Dice. A checker may be moved to an open Point, or it may be moved to a Point occUpied by the player's own Checkers. If the Point is occUpied by the opponent's Checkers, the player must first remove the opponent's checker and then move his own checker.

4. Bear off the Checkers: When a player has moved all of his Checkers to his home board, he can start beaRing them off. To bear off a checker, the player must roll the exact number needed to reach the 1-Point. If the player rolls a higher number than is needed, he must move a checker according to the number rolled. The game ends when one player has borne all of his Checkers off the board.

5. Winning the game: The player who bears off all of his Checkers first is the winner. If the opponent has Checkers on the bar or in the winner's home board, the winner must still bear off those Checkers before he can win the game.
