How to play Laps?

Laps is a fun, fast-paced card game that can be played with two or more players.

Objective:

The objective of Laps is to be the first player to get rid of all of their cards.

SetUp:

1. Shuffle a standard deck of 52 cards.

2. Deal out all of the cards to the players. the number of cards each player gets depends on the number of players. For two players, each player gets 26 cards. For three players, each player gets 17 cards. For four players, each player gets 13 cards.

3. Place the remaining cards in the center of the table, face down. This is the draw pile.

Gameplay:

1. The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by placing any card from their hand face Up in the center of the table.

2. The next player must then place a card of the same suit as the first card, but of a higher rank. For example, if the first card is a 5 of Hearts, the next player must place a 6 of Hearts or higher.

3. If a player cannot place a card of the same suit as the first card, they must draw a card from the draw pile. If they can play the card they drew, they may do so. If not, their Turn is skipped.

4. Play continues in this manner until one player has no cards remaining in their hand. That player is the winner.

5. If the draw pile runs out, the player who placed the last card in the center of the table must draw from the discard pile.

6. If the discard pile runs out, the game is over and the player with the lowest number of cards in their hand is the winner.
