Shove Them is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The cards are shuffled and each player is dealt 7 cards. The remaining cards are placed face down in the center of the table, forming the draw pile.
Gameplay
The player to the left of the dealer goes first. On your Turn, you can either draw a card from the draw pile or play a card from your hand. If you play a card, it must match the suit or rank of the card already on the table. For example, if the card on the table is a 3 of Hearts, you can play any other 3 or any other heart.
Once you have played a card, you must “shove” the card onto the table, pushing it towards the player on your left. The player to the left must then pick Up the card and add it to their hand.
If you draw a card, you must add it to your hand without playing it.
The game continues until one player has no cards left in their hand. That player is the winner.
Variations
THere are a few variations of Shove Them. In some versions, you must match both the suit and rank of the card on the table. In others, you can play any card as long as it is higher than the card on the table.
You can also play with more than two players. In this case, the player to the left of the dealer goes first and play passes cLockwise around the table.
You can also add additional rules, such as allowing players to draw more than one card from the draw pile on their Turn, or allowing players to play multiple cards at once.
