1. Set Up the Board: Russian Draughts is played on a board made Up of 64 Black and whiteSquares. The board should be oriented so that each player has a white Square on the right-hand side.
2. Place the Pieces: Each player has 12 pieces in total, which are placed on The BlackSquares.
3. Determine Who Goes First: Each player rolls a die and the player with the highest number goes first.
4. Moving the Pieces: The pieces can OnlyMove Forward and diagonally. When a piece reaches the opposite side of the board, it becomes a king and can move both forward and backward.
5. CaptuRing Pieces: When a piece moves to a Square occUpied by an opponent’s piece, the opponent’s piece is captured and removed from the board. CaptuRing is mandatory and must be done if possible.
6. Winning the Game: The game is won when one player captures all of their opponent’s pieces or when the opponent is unable to make any more moves.
Russian checkers/Draughts (Shashki or Russian shashki) is the most popular type of draughts played in Russia, Eastern Europe and Israel. The goal of the game is to capture all the opponent’s pieces or prevent him to make a move.
