How to play Sarens?

Sarens is a two-player abstract strategy game played on a 4x4 board. Each player has 16 pieces, which are Divided into four sets of four pieces each. The Goal of the game is to capture your opponent’s pieces or to move your pieces in such a way that your opponent cannot make a valid move.

SetUp:

Each player chooses a color and places their four sets of four pieces on the board. The pieces should be arranged in a 2x2 Square, with each set of four pieces in the same color. The pieces should be placed so that each set of four pieces is in a DIFFerent corner of the board.

Gameplay:

Players take Turns moving one piece at a time. Pieces can move one space in any direction, including diagonally. Pieces can Jump over other pieces, but cannot Jump over their own pieces. The Goal is to capture your opponent’s pieces or to move your pieces in such a way that your opponent cannot make a valid move.

If a player captures all of their opponent’s pieces, they win the game. If both players are unable to make a valid move, the game is a draw.

Strategy:

Sarens is a game of strategy and planning. Players must think carefully about their moves and anticipate their opponent’s moves. It is important to try to move pieces in such a way that they cannot be captured, while also trying to capture your opponent’s pieces. Players should also try to move pieces in such a way that their opponent cannot make a valid move.
