The players should decide on a theme before the game begins. This could be a category such as animals, sports, or food.
Gameplay:
The first player will choose a word related to the theme and say it out loud. The next player must then say a word related to the theme that begins with the last letter of the first word. For example, if the theme is animals and the first word is “dog”, the next player could say “giraffe”. The game continues until a player cannot think of a word or cannot think of a word that begins with the last letter of the previous word. The player who cannot think of a word loses the round.
The players can decide to keep score if they wish. The player who wins the round can be awarded one Point. The game ends when one player reaches a predetermined number of Points.
Variations:
Players can also play Theme Words with two themes. The first player will choose a word from one of the themes and the next player must choose a word from the other theme. This can be a fun way to add some variety to the game.
