1. Set Up the board: Place the board between the two players so that each player has a white Square on their right. Place the rooks in the corners, Knights next to the rooks, bishops next to the Knights, the Queen on her own colour (white Queen on a white Square, black Queen on a black Square), and the King on the remaining Square of the same colour.
2. Determine who goes first: Both players can decide who goes first by flipPing a coin, or if playing onLine, the player with the white pieces usually goes first.
3. Move the pieces: Players take Turns moving one of their pieces to an unoccUpied Square or captuRing an opponent’s piece by moving to the Square it occUpies. The game is won when a player checkmates their opponent’s King.
4. Castling: Castling is a move that allows the King and a Rook to move at the same time. To castle, the King must move two Squares towards the Rook, and the Rook moves over the King and onto the Square next to it.
5. Pawns: Pawns can move one Square forward, or one Square diagonally if they are captuRing an opponent’s piece. Pawns can also move two Squares forward on their first move.
6. Promotion: When a pawn reaches the opposite side of the board, it can be promoted to any other piece (except the King).
7. Check and checkmate: When a player’s King is threaTened by an opponent’s piece, it is said to be in check. If a player’s King cannot Escape from check, then it is said to be checkmated and the game is over.
Chess 2D assist with all possible Chess moves, with a green indication for a valid move, with a blue indicator for En Passant and Castling, a yellow indicator indicating a move that is not allowed because the Chess piece, King is in danger if the move were to be valid, and a red indication of the Chess piece, King when in danger.
The space or square once selecting a Chess piece will lit up accordingly, and give a clear indication like real life robotic colours, green means go, orange means warning and red means danger.
