Compassion is a card game for 2-4 players. It is a game of strategy and luck.
Objective: Be the first player to collect all four suits of cards.
SetUp: Shuffle the deck of 52 cards and deal out the entire deck evenly among the players. Each player should have 13 cards.
Gameplay: Each player looks at their cards and decides which suit they would like to collect. They should then arrange their cards in a row in front of them, face Up, with the cards of the chosen suit in the middle.
The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by playing one card from their hand. The card should be of the same suit as the cards in the middle. The next player must then play a card that matches either the rank or the suit of the card just played.
If a player cannot or does not want to play a card that matches either the rank or the suit of the card just played, they must pass and the next player must play a card that matches either the rank or the suit of the card just played.
Play continues in this manner until one player has collected all four suits of cards. That player wins the game.
Variations: • Some players may choose to play with more than four suits. • Some players may choose to allow cards of any suit to be played, even if they do not match the suit of the card just played. • Some players may choose to play with more than one deck of cards.
