1. Gather the players and the equipment. You need a Minimum of two players, but it’s more fun with more. You’ll also need a flat surface, such as a tabletop or the floor, and a handful of marbles.
2. Select the playing area. The playing area should be large enough for the players to move around and shoot their marbles.
3. Decide on the number of marbles each player will start with. The most common way to play is for each player to have Five marbles.
4. Determine the Shooter. The Shooter is the player who will shoot first. This can be determined by a coin toss, or by the players taking Turns.
5. Place the marbles. The marbles should be placed in a Line in the center of the playing area. This is known as the “shooting Line.”
6. Take Turns shooting. The Shooter will take one marble from the shooting Line and attempt to knock other marbles out of the playing area. The Shooter’s marble should be Shot with a flick of the thumb.
7. Collect the marbles. After each Shot, the Shooter collects any marbles that were knocked out of the playing area. These marbles become the Shooter’s pRoperty.
8. Continue shooting. The Shooter continues taking Shots until all of his or her marbles have been used.
9. Pass the Shooter. After the Shooter has used all of his or her marbles, the next player in Line becomes the Shooter.
10. Keep playing. The game continues until all of the marbles have been used. The player with the most marbles at the end of the game is the winner.
