How to play Spades?

Spades is a trick-taking card game typically played with four players. The Goal of the game is to be the first team to reach 500 Points.

1. Deal: The first dealer is chosen at random and the Turn to deal passes to the left after each hand. The dealer shuffles the cards and deals out all 52 cards, 13 to each player.

2. Bidding: Each player must bid a number of Tricks that they expect to take. The bids begin with the player to the left of the dealer and continue cLockwise around the table. A player may bid Nil (expecting to take no Tricks) or Blind Nil (expecting to take no Tricks without looking at their hand).

3. Playing: The player to the left of the dealer leads the first trick. Each player must Follow suit if possible, otherwise they may play any card. The highest card of the suit led wins the trick. The winner of the trick leads the next trick.

4. ScoRing: At the end of each hand, teams tally Up the number of Tricks taken. If a team makes their bid, they are awarded 10 Points for each trick bid, plus one Point for each additional trick taken. If a team does not make their bid, they are deducted 10 Points for each trick bid. The game ends when one team reaches 500 Points.
