1. Set Up the game: Place all 144 Tiles face down on the table. Mix them Up thoroughly.
2. Deal the Tiles: Each player should draw 13 Tiles from the pile. The remaining Tiles are placed in the center of the table to form the draw pile.
3. Form your hand: Each player should arrange their Tiles in order of suit and rank.
4. Discard Tiles: The player to the left of the dealer starts by discarding one tile from their hand. This tile is placed face Up in the center of the table, and becomes the discard pile.
5. Draw Tiles: The next player must draw a tile from either the draw pile or the discard pile. If the player chooses to draw from the discard pile, they must use the tile to form a meld.
6. Melds: Players can form melds of three or four Tiles of the same suit and rank.
7. Going Out: To win the game, a player must collect all 14 Tiles in their hand to form four melds and a pair. The player can then declare “Mahjong” and win the game.
8. ScoRing: Points are awarded for each meld formed. The player with the most Points at the end of the game is the winner.
