How to play Shadowless Man?

Shadowless Man is a card game for two to four players. It is played with a standard deck of 52 playing cards.

Objective:

The objective of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all their cards.

SetUp:

Each player is dealt a hand of Five cards. The remaining cards are placed in a draw pile in the center of the table.

Gameplay:

The player to the left of the dealer goes first. On their Turn, the player must play one card from their hand onto the discard pile. The card must either be one rank higher or lower than the card on the discard pile. For example, if the card on the discard pile is a 7, the player must play either a 6 or an 8.

If the player cannot play a card, they must draw cards from the draw pile until they can play a card.

If a player plays a Jack, they must immediately draw a card from the draw pile. This card is placed face down in front of them and is known as the “Shadowless Man”. The Shadowless Man can be used as any card in the deck.

The game continues until one player runs out of cards. The player with no cards left is the winner.

Variations:

• Some players may choose to play with a “cut” rule. This means that after the dealer has dealt the cards, the player to the left of the dealer must cut the deck before the game begins.

• Some players may choose to play with a “wild card” rule. This means that if a player plays a Jack, they can choose any card from the deck to be the Shadowless Man.

• Some players may choose to play with an “ace” rule. This means that Aces can be played on either a King or a 2.
