To begin a game of Hearts, you will need a standard 52-card deck of playing cards. The game is best played with four players, but it is possible to play with three or Five players.
2. Dealing the Cards:
The dealer will shuffle the cards and then deal them one at a time in a cLockwise direction, until each player has 13 cards. The cards should be dealt face down, so that the players cannot see their cards.
3. Passing Cards:
At the start of the game, each player will choose three cards from their hand and pass them to another player. The player to the left of the dealer will pass their cards to the player on their left, the player to the left of them will pass their cards to the player on their left, and so on. The dealer will pass their cards to the player on their right.
4. Playing the Game:
The player to the left of the dealer will lead the first trick by playing any card from their hand. The other players must then Follow suit and play a card of the same suit, if they have one. If they do not have a card of the same suit, they can play any card. The player who plays the highest card of the suit led wins the trick. That player will collect all the cards that were played, and they will lead the next trick.
At the end of each hand, the players will count the Points in the cards they have taken. Hearts are worth one Point each, and the Queen of Spades is worth 13 Points. The player who has the fewest Points at the end of the hand is the winner. The game is played until one of the players has reached or exceeded 100Points. The player with the lowest score at that Point is the winner.
