Tute is a card game that is popular in Spain and Latin America. It is similar to the game of Pinochle, but it is played with a 40-card Spanish deck instead of the standard 52-card deck.
Objective:
The objective of the game is to be the first player to reach a predetermined number of Points.
Tute is played with a 40-card Spanish deck. The deck consists of four suits: oros (Golds), copas (cUps), espadas (sWords), and bastos (clubs). Each suit contains 10 cards: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, and 12.
Dealing:
The dealer shuffles the cards and deals each player 10 cards, one at a time, starting with the player to their left. The remaining 10 cards are placed face down in the center of the table and are not used duRing the game.
The Play:
The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by leading a card. The other players then play a card in cLockwise order. The player who plays the highest card of the suit led wins the trick and collects the cards played. The player who won the trick then leads the next card.
At the end of each hand, the players count the Points in their Tricks. The Points are as Follows:
1. Each Ace is worth 11 Points. 2. Each 3 is worth 10 Points. 3. Each King is worth 4 Points. 4. Each Knight is worth 3 Points. 5. Each Jack is worth 2 Points. 6. Each 10 is worth 1 Point. 7. Each other card is worth 0 Points.
The first player to reach a predetermined number of Points (usually 40) is the winner.
Tute is a trick-taking card game of the Ace-Ten family. Originating in Italy, where it was known as Tutti, during the 19th century the game spread in Spain, becoming one of the most popular card games in the country. The game is played with a 40-card deck of traditional Spanish or Italian playing cards, or naipes. Each player is dealt eight cards. The non-dealer leads any card to the first trick. The second player must follow suit and head the trick if possible. If the second player is void in the led suit, but has one or more trump cards, he must play a trump. Only if the second player has no cards of the led suit and no trumps, may any other card be played. The trick is won by the higher trump or, if no trumps are played, the higher card of the led suit. The winner of the trick takes the first card from the stock, and the loser the second. The trick winner may then make any announcements before leading to the next trick. A player (or a pair), who wins at least one trick receives an ability to gain more round points upon declaring the card combinations. The player, who collected all the four Kings, is entitled to declare tute (all), which automatically ends the round with a collector's victory. Having both King and Knight of the trump suit, one can declare las cuarenta (forty), scoring additional 40-round points. The combination of King and Knight of any other suit can be declared as veinte (twenty); it adds 20 round points to the player's score.
