1. Positioning: Before the play begins, the Kicker needs to position himself at the spot wHere the ball will be Kicked. If it is a field Goal, the Kicker should stand about seven yards behind the Line of scrimmage. If it is a Kickoff, the Kicker should be positioned at the Kicking tee.
2. Pre-Kick Routine: Before the ball is snapped, the Kicker should go through a pre-Kick routine. This includes taking a few practice Steps, visualizing the Kick, and mentally prepaRing for the Kick.
3. Set Up: Once the ball is snapped, the Kicker should set Up in the Correct position. This includes setting Up with the non-Kicking foot slightly behind the ball, and the Kicking foot slightly behind the non-Kicking foot.
4. Strike the Ball: Once the Kicker is in the Correct position, he should strike the ball with the laces of his Kicking foot. The Kicker should Follow through with his Kick, allowing his Kicking leg to exTend fully.
5. Follow Through: After striking the ball, the Kicker should Follow through with his Kick. This helps ensure that the ball will travel in the Correct direction.
6. Follow the Flight of the Ball: After the ball is Kicked, the Kicker should Follow the flight of the ball. This allows the Kicker to make any necessary adjustments if the ball is going off course.
